Electrical problems

First problem is my intermittent wipers, when I turn the switch to the first notch, the wipers will go half way, stop....then go a few more inches, stop.....then go part way back down, stop....and so on. Ive tried three different wiper timer units and they all do the same thing. It looks like someone has had the motor off before so, could they have put somthing one wrong? Any ideas would be great! thanks

Second is my HVAC modes. I took my heater control unit out, to replace the bulbs in it, and when I put it back in, the mode door motor wouldn't switch, so I got a new mode door motor and put it in, making sure the position of the door was the same as the button depressed on the control unit. This did the same thing. Could somthing have burnt up in the control unit? anyone ever run into this?
