Not really much to go on, TBH. Worst case from the sound of it is that something arced in the battery. Check your cables to see if there was any melting done near the terminals. If there is, you will need to check the alternator as well. A lot of times, a battery that has a serious bad short (think something metal connected the terminal clamps), the alternator fries as well AND you will wind up with lots of melted spots inside the wiring harness. That's still worst case scenario, though. Just check it out, take good note as to what actually happened. And more than likely, being that it's electrical in nature, and it could be pretty complex in nature, I would recommend taking it to someone that has electrical experience. Blind trouble shooting over the internet with minimal details will get shot in the dark guesses at best. Having someone probe with a multimeter will produce better results, IMO.
