Hey fellas,I'm actually asking this question for my friend, so hopefully someone can help me just as i am trying to help him.

He came to me with the an Electrical problem, or at least i think. He scrapped his bumper, and i guess he cracked or broke it because he had to replace it. it was sitting in his garage for about two or three weeks when he finally got the front bumper and side panel (passenger side) replaced. since that day he has not been able to drive the car. it does not rev up passed 1500 in neutral. he only moved it about 10ft to back it out of the garage half way. His dashboard VDC Light is on, Slip Light, and Check Eng. Some other guy told him to unhook the battery and crank it for twenty seconds and that would fix it. Well it only killed it. Any suggestions on what to do will really help. Thanks fellas.

sounds like something was disconnected.

I would double check all wires to ensure that this isn't the case, then I would reset the ECU (just disconnect the neg on the battery and depress the brake pedal several times)

Hey there and Welcome to NICO!

I am willing to bet that the codes you have are either a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)driver motor error, or a MAF (Mass Airflow Meter) DTC. Any of these codes will set codes in other systems causing the VDC,Slip, and Brake light to illuminate.

I don't know why you would try to crank the car with the battery disconnected as it would have no power to crank. If the battery is not grounded then the circuit is open and no voltage will flow. Odd.

Do you have a code reader or is the car under warranty?

Is there any damage to the engine bay harness, or components?

Do all the front lights work?

There are a few crucial engine grounds in the front of the car, were they damaged/disconnected?
