1992 Q45 with 135K.

When car is started the brake lights dash lights (information center) lights start flashing. Finally they will stop but if you depresss the brake petal they start flashing again. Have been pulled over by police in last few days several times.

This appears to have started after engine slightly overheated. I don't know if this is a coincidence or not.

Information center shows worn brake pads however it has shown that message since brakes were done several months ago and pads w/o sensor were installed. But that message did not flash until just recently when brakes, dash and information center lights started flashing a few days ago.

Does anyone have a suggestion where to start?

The brake lamps and the BRAKE LED all flash? Almost sounds like some kind of warning, but try removing non-critical fuses and relays one at a time until it stops. That should narrow it down at least.

I have more specific information about the flashing lights.

First of all it is the tail lights that flash along with the dome lights on instrument panel. They will stop flashing after about a minute but as soon as you activate anything electrical such as turn signal, open door, turn on headlight, depress brake pedal the tail lights and dome lights strat flashing again.

I took your advice went under hood into fuse box and removed the fuse for the tail lights. They still flashed without a fuse (fuse was blown) put in new fuse but it didn't make any difference. So without a fuse inserted into the tailight slot the tail lights still flashed.

One other thing when headlights are turned on the instrument panel lights (dome lights) do not come on except to dimmly flash in uinison with tail light.

Brake lights work, interior lights work, headlights work. All other components work.

Anyone have any other suggestion?

Check the fuses, then check the modules. Get a FSM if you don't have one.
