i have a '90 240SX. i am getting no electricity to the interior of the car and the car wont run, but will if you direct jump the starter, though it wont stay running. the altenator, battery, starter are good. all fuses are good as well. if it was a mechanical issue i'd already have figured it out, but i am CLUELESS when it comes to ANYTHING electrical.

Same thing happened to me after my car sat for 1.5yrs. turns out i blew the main fuse when trying to jump the batt with my civic once. The main fusible link is under the hood in the relay box. lemme guess. you try to jump it and it'll run while connected to another car. You get head lights but no interior, no clock, no radio, no pwr windows/locks. no running lights......etc. Oh, and you'll probably have to get a new battery.

Main Fuse - On the S13 it is in the fuse box under the hood, the large Grey fuse closest to the back of the box in the middle, 75 amp.

Power problem - Battery terminals is a good place to start. But think of electricity like water, and think of wire as water pipes. If the water source is limited or blocked (corrosion on the terminals, broken wire) then the water wont flow. Also remember to check the Grounds, as these are the destinations of the water. If the water can not flow to something (ground), it's the same thing as corking the end of the water pipe. The S13 has some Chassis ground problems. So check the Battery terminals, them your grounds (take them off and clean the contact areas), and you could always just have a bad battery too. Sorry for the lame comparison. Even if the alternator is good, and if the battery is completely shot, your car my not run. The alternator will be trying to charge the battery (which could have a direct internal short, or a bad cell) and not be able to keep the car running. I hope this is helpful, Josh
