electrical problem with door...???

a friend and I were installing some speakers the other day and after getting everything done we noticed that there wasnt any sound coming from the drivers side door speaker. we tested the speaker and the speaker works fine but when we connect it to the harness from the door no sound, we tested the wire for any current and there is a little bit of current in the wire. the light in the current tester was very dim though. Any thoughts in what the problem could be. or any ideas on how to fix this. HELP.....

also I dont know if this matters at all but I have a 91 240sx fastback. I was wondering if maybe anyone had a door to sell me, maybe it would be easier that way. I dont know. I am confused .....UGGGGG!
