I have 1996 Nissan 240sx with an s14 sr20det swap in it and had the first problem electrically with it today. I went to start the car after a brief stop at the store. Well it made a funny noise up under the dash and would not crank -- would not turn over completely -- So I checked the clutch switch and it was ok. Pushed on the relays on the fuse box and one of them pushed in a little. So I let it sit for while checked all grounds in the engine bay and they looked good. So cranked it over and it started... Now I am kinda worried about what those fuses in the drivers side kick panel are and what they do? So if anyone has a list of those 4 relays on the drivers side fuse box are I would really appreciate it. They are not on the kick panel diagram and not listed on the printout?

thanks

It is not in the fsm. But thanks for the reply. I am thinking it has something to do with the gauge cluster since it is making a funny sound when you turn the key to the on position? Does anyone know if the gauage cluster on a s14 plays any role in the starting of the car?

One of your relay's could have taken a s*** or you popped a fuse. If you heard a funny noise then that's really possible.

I heard a funny noise because the battery drained and the voltage dropped to like 9-10 volts (on the power FC commander) so when I turned it over all I heard was "Click" It had been a few days after a long trip since I have driven it-- One day it was 80 degrees then the same night it dropped to less than 50 degrees. So I am guessing that the voltage drop in the battery caused from the cold weather made the car not start. I tested it with my voltage meter and it has started up every single time. So I hope it was just a battery thing.....
