I have a 1993 240 SX conv. Has about 162 K miles. It has not been driven much lately. Starts up with out a problem. No known problems. I have changed plugs, filters, wires and oil on a regular basis. When I first get in the car, the clock is blank. When I turn on the ignition to start the car, the car starts on first try within a second or two. The problems is that I do not have any dash electronics for about 1o seconds after the car starts. I have no lights, windshield wipers, radio, clock, etc. Then, after the car is running about 10 seconds, the windshield wipers come on, the lights come(both dash and running) on, the clock comes on (displays: 1:00) , radio comes on, all else seems to work. The fuses look okay. I assume that if a fuse is bad, the dash and lights, etc, would not come on.I made sure that the relays are setted, but, did not check them with a meter.Connection at positive post on battery looks good, but, I did no meter checking. Any suggestions?

it sounds like you have corrosion somewhere in your wiring. I would guess here and say either in your fuse boxs (in the kick panel) main feed has a connectivity problem when cold. next time it does it try wiggling the box a bit. or it is at the main fuse link on the battery.

Hey,Not yet.I'm trying to work on it between the other 12 dozen things I'm working on. But.....I'm determined to get with it over Thanksgiving and get back up on the road. It's just got to be something simple that i've been looking right by.I'll let you know when I find out.

i found out my problem. The exact same circumstances that you had; It ended up being the 100 amp main fuse in the black box underneath the hood. Mine was blown. I replaced it and everything works fine now. I would say that your fuse isnt blown there but that its coming loose somehow. Check it out. I think it said like FL100 A on the black box. Basically the one and only 100 amp fuse in that location.

yeah you don't have constant link to your battery if your clock is blank whenever you turn it on.
