Car: 1994 nissan altima gxe automatic

Post

I am an owner of a 1994 nissan altima gxe with a automatic transmission. i bought it a couple years ago and after the first year of owning it, it came with a problem. i would be driving it down the road, and all of a suden it would jump, shift weird. it would put the transmission into fourth gear or overdrive. now when you slowed speed, it wouldn't shift down. even manualy shifting it, it would never get into first gear, or any gear. it keep messing up and breaking down. so one day i took it down to amco thinking it was a transmission problem. they looked at the transmission twice and and said it was new looking. the gears fine, oil new. they couldn't figure it out. they did find a negative wire running to the mass air flow. they fixed that. they said it could be the computer and they replaced it. well i drove it for a very small time, then it did it again. so i finally got it back home. they still had no idea. so one day i got underneath it and just stared looking and just had a weird idea to disconnect the speed cable at the speed sensor. it worked i was able to drive the car for quite some time. i thought i fixed it, so i plugged it back in just before it was winter here. i forgot about it for quite some time. come spring of the next year, i was driving and it happened again. so i ran around all summer without the speed sensor which doesn't give a speed reading. so i ran it and plugged it back in during the winter. then the next year i had enough of it. i put a switch on it. as i would be going along, when it would mess up, i just pull over and flip the switch, turn the car off and then on, and take off again. so when the speed sensor is working during summer, it stops the car. so i got enough money and replaced the speed sensor. it worked for a little longer, but one really hot day, it messed up again. so after that i got another car and have been trying to fix it to sell it. another odd thing is that the cruise never worked. we got the light to come on to finally try to set the cruise, but never worked. so we troubleshot the cruise and speed sensor. we ended up in replacing the ascd unit for the cruise and still not working. all fuses and relays are working. no blown fuses.

No need to be annoying. Post once then wait for the other members to respond. I am going to delete any further threads from you regarding this. Wait for an answer, they don't respond immediately.
