Right, so.. My 1990 240sx ka, sohc automatic doesn't want to run.

Sometime back I took the mafs connector off, "upgrading" from the box intake to a cone filter.. had future plans.. don't give me grief And shortly after doing so, the car would barely start... and when it did, it would stutter and shut off. I figured I must have messed up the wiring to the mafs connector... so I played with the wires a bit, and it would start up fine after that and idle perfectly. But when I drive and get on the gas a bit, it stutters when i'm about to switch gears, and won't accelerate properly. If I drive very slowly it will drive normally and switch gears as it should. So I'm guessing I need to re-wire the connection or get a new one ? I'm lost.. to say the least.. I'm no good with electric stuff. Is there a good way to test to see if that is in fact the problem ? Maybe put a volt meter up to the connection and test to see if the current is as it should be in each inlet ? Could someone tell me what it should read in each connection.. I would greatly appreciate the help.

Check and make sure that everything behind the mafs is sealed and isn't sucking air.
