My gauge cluster stopped working on me suddenly while I was driving. There seems to be no power going into it, cd player, signal lights, horn, and my brake lights were all not working at all. The car still seems to be driving fine and I was able to drive it back home. Is this a simple electrial problem? Such as replacing the fuses or am I faced with more serious problems? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Sorry for the noob question, but where is the instrumentation fuse? The only thing in my car that is getter power is my PowerFC and my avcr, besides that, nothing else is getting any power.

Check your fusible links. If any of them are melted or burnt then you foud the culprit - now you just have to figure out WHY it happened (doesnt happen for no reason).

I checked the fuses and one of them seems burnt out (75A one near the battery). I went to Nissan dealership and got another one of those and went home to install it. Once it made some contact it made a zapping sound and the fuse blew again.... am I doing something wrong? I went back to Nissan to grab another one.. but I havent pluged it in yet as I'm afraid the same thing will happen again. Has this happen to anyone before? I'm a noobie when it comes to these stuff so any help will be great. Thanks

you have to disconnect the battery before you do any electrical work...

Yeah I knew I should've... stupid me. I'm just afraid that the fuse will blow again once I connect the battery back.
