I have been having problems with my HUD. I fixed the digital readout thanks to some advise i got here. Now another problem arose. At night when I turn on my headlights the HUD does not light up, it's totally dark. The digital readout for speed is ok but i cant see anything else. Also when the lights are off the digi clock has a small back light, but when i turn on the headlights and the otherbacklight is supposed to take over it doesnt so i cant see my clock at night unless my lights are off.

Got one more question too, I want to start drifting and i want to make my 240 into basic drifting form w/o spending loads of cash. I've got new springs and shocks. springs lowered it (and the shocks were stock, i think a chage after over 15 years is good) and i changed the brake pads and had the rotors resurfaced. Anything else that isnt too expensive to turn it into a basic drift machine?

One last thing, I don't want to, but i have only been doing some practice drifting on the street late at night. i'd rather have a lot of room without the worry of cops or damaging mine or someone else's property. Does anyone know some spot(s) where it's ok to practice in southern california, hopefully close to Los Angeles.

Thank you to anyone who can help me with one or all of these issues.

As far as the gauge lights, check fuses. did they work before you fixed the HUD? if they did, Then check the connectors on the back of the trim piece around the streering wheel and the harness conectors behind the cluster. That is about all I know about this subject.

PS I'm not sure if the 89 is different than my 93, but mine has more than 1 fuse for the gauge cluster lights. Make sure you have Taillights!!(one of the fuses is for both!)
