Hi guys i have a 1992 240sx with a 98 KA24... i have a really big electrical problem somewhere and i have no idea where it is or what to do to find it, so maybe some of you guys could help... ok so when its full throttle in 1st, 2nd and sometiems 3rd gear my car spazzes out and its like a cd skipping! My cluster goes nuts, all my gauges just start bouncing around, my left headlight flickers and whenever i go over a bump my radio turns off and then on. Also when i go over big bump my clock resets....Its only when i floor it that it feels like my car turns off and on for a quick second and my motor like dies and then gets back to rpm, dies then gets back to rpm and i have no idea what it is, im thinking it might be my distrubutor...anyone have an idea?

I'm guessing the 02 sensor is responsible.

To check your O2 sensor. Here's the procedure for all +1991's:

-Turn on ignition switch (do not start engine).

-Turn diagnostic mode selector on ECU fully clockwise.

-Wait a few seconds.

-Turn diagnostic mode selector fully counterclockwise. You are now in MODE-II.

-Start engine and let fully warm up (temperature up to normal).

-Run engine at 2000 RPM or higher for about two minutes under no load.

-Check that the inspection lamp (red LED) on the ECU goes on and off more than 5 times during 10 seconds at 2000 RPM.If the O2 sensor checks out OK then check the EGR valve.

i dont thnk its that 02 sensor... u can quickly diagnose it by forcing your car into "open loop" mode which should make it run w/ the preset specs burned into the car's PC <just unplug the connector to the sensor>

Disclaimer: u might get the check engine light to go on, but see the link below to fiddle/reset it

for more info in fiddling w/ that set screw to choose modes/read trouble codes, http://www.240sx.org see FAQs section.

I'm thinking: check ALL your grounds 1st... or goto nissan online mechanic forums for this

the spazzing of the engine would be caused by the maf. The other stuff is caused by your car not liking an OBDII engine

everything is swapped for the OBD2 conversion, and when i first did my swap i didnt have this problem, then all of the sudden i started noticing it a little and it just got worse and worse, and my maf is what i thought it was too, and i changed it and its still the same
