It was whining away in the driveway with no one near the car and continued to whine all the way to the dealer the next day. The dealer determined there was a leak somewhere and replaced the beeper inside the door and some seals.
Less than a month later, the problem reoccurred during the next rainstorm. Dealer replaced the buzzer again as well as and more seals.
Well following our drought, we had another great rain yesterday. Walked out to get in the car and the whine was back. This time they're going to replace the weather seals around the drivers' side window glass because they can't figure out where the water is getting in.
Any ideas? The car is fine through car washes, downpours, etc. It only seems to be happening after the car is sitting in the driveway during a good 3 hours or longer of steady rain.
I'm guessing that since it doesn't happen during car washes and other situations where it gets water on it is because the leak must be fairly small.. since you are having rain storms for a couple hours long that seems to be the only thing that comes to my mind..
My guess would also be the window seals.. maybe there is just a little bit of rain getting in there and when a rainstorm comes it bundles up..
