I would appreciate advice on the following: I own a 2003 350Z that unfortunately found its why into a puddle of water 1/2 way up to the wheel well yesterday. All the dash lights went on subsequently. The car was then parked at work. In the afternoon, after work, the problem persisted with nonfunctining: headlights, windshild wipers, signal lights, tach/all gauges....in fact the headlights would come on/off in synchrony with the radiator fan...water has obviously shorted the relays/circuit to the electrical/fuse box....

Question: where is box located and is it that low that a mear heavy downfall can cause problems? I am grateful for any assistance/advice. Thanks in advance.

Two boxes, one is on te passanger side under the hood (next to your batttery) and the other is behind the left hand side driver kickplate. (by the drivers feet on the left)

Thats really strange, actually after a heavy rain my turn signal noise stopped working, but just started working again.

First off, welcome to nico.

Second Richie shut up

Third, it was only half way up the wheels? It shouldnt have really hurt anything. Do you have any other symptoms besides the lights. Is the car running good besides that one problem?

thanks for postings...i have left the car under the sun for 2 days.... and all the problems with the headlights/windshield wipers/tach/all gauges all the electrical have resolved....the only thing is a persist "check engine soon" light on the dash...any thoughts on ways to get rid of this?....i will try unhooking the battery in hopes to reset everything....thanks again....incidently, electrical problems run $100/hr to sort out by the nissan dealers and it is well advised to get your insurance involved early....

You can pull the codes from your check engine light by borrowing a diagnostic tool at a local autozone for free. You just have to leave them your id while you use it outside the store. When the codes are retrieved take note what they are and clear the codes with the same tool. Good luck! As far as your electrical system, I'd start by going through your fuse box(es).

And Richie STFU dipsh!t!

Like what X said, you can buy borrowing an OBD II scanner from a local parts store or You can buy one for yourself and clear it.
