get a new alternator?

take it to a shop?

you sound like you dont really work on cars alot, and it really doesnt cost that much to fix an alternator. Which motor is in the thing anyway? SR? CA? KA?

I figured you knew body stuff.I hope you got one of the brand new alternators, cause some of those part-store alts are real crap. I had one from a part store that had a bad voltage regulator straight from the store. Then the replacement they gave me crapped out a month later. Then i got a new one from nissan and no more problems. Even now, three years later.

As far as the loosening nuts: are there lockwashers under them? The adjustment screw, do you mean the one used to tension the belt? Either way, use some loctite thread locker(red version, can be broken loose w/hand tools later). Great stuff... they make it in a 'chap-stick' style applicator now, which makes it easier/less messy when applying to bolt threads.

yeah make sure those lock washers are under all the alternator fasteners. loctite maybe overkill. a locker nut would be an alternative.

Well I sugested loctite on the belt tensioner screw, because there is no 'nut' to put a washer under.

also if you do it yourself just make sure you have the proper tension on the belt too little tension could sometimes give the same effect

we'll I took the alt back to auto zone and i was a bad volt regulator and it was killing my batt. and very thing else electronically i put a new alt. on and is seem fine but as far a the bolt problem they are the other two bolts not the belt tensionor bolt they are the swivile bolt on the bottom and the bolt on the top that goes into the alt and they are still shaking loose
