I couldn't find any specific forum for this car, so I find myself in the "general forum". I have a 2000 Infiniti I30t with some weird electrical bugs. I notice this especially in the morning when it's dark because it has to do with the lights, mostly. When driving down the road, I notice that sometimes the ABS light comes on. When it does, the headlights go on ULTRA bright and the heater blower goes on HYPER high for a few moments, then the ABS light goes off, and everything goes back to normal. This happens several times before it seems to stabilize a bit. As a result of this, I've burned through 2 blower motor resistors, and it really irritates other drivers when I cannot control my high beams.
I'm wondering if my alternator is over-charging? This would be weird because I've already replaced the battery once while it was under warranty and the latest check of the battery (yesterday) shows that it is headed the same direction as the previous battery. I replaced the alternator about 2yrs ago, though I'm not sure when this ABS stuff started...probably about 1 year ago. I've also noticed that my dashboard lights and headlights are starting to "pulsate" when the car idles. Any clues?

Welcome to NICO!

Bummer to hear about your troubles with your Ininiti. You're on the right track with the assumption that you've got an electrical issue somewhere. I'll suggest that you start cheap. Take some time to inspect all of the grounds on the wiring harness in the engine bay. Be sure that they're tight and clean. For good measure, remove them and sand down the contact areas just to rule them out of the equation. After that, start looking at individual connections at the ABS wiring harness, headlights, and at the large connector at the fire wall. They may be loose as well.

Let us know how that works out and we'll continue to help you from there.

Sounds like a bad voltage regulator to me. That's part of the alternator...

Also, the I30 forum is grouped with the Maxima forum.

Good luck and welcome to NICO!
