Hey guys I was coming home from work when I noticed that the clock light in my 1997 240sx does not work. My turn signals did not work either without connecting the hazard switch up because it was destroyed when the car was broken into. What should I look for to troubleshoot this issue? I think the climate control plastic's rear windsheild defroster button might not be working, does it need that to work? The hazard switch was needed for the turn signals. Thanks.

Take out your gauge cluster and replace the bulb, it is fastened by a twist style clasp. the difficult part is getting out the cluster.

Take these steps:

1- remove all screws under the steering wheel column (4), the cover should come down easily.

2- remove all screws from under the dash in the wheel well, (6 I believe) with another one on the door sill that is a bugger to get at, as it is behind the side foot plate right at the threshold of the door on the inside of the weatherstripping. The whole 2' x 2' can come out after you unscrew the parking brake release from it.

3- 2 (14mm I think) screws that hold up the steering column need to be removed. The column should drop now.

4.- 2 screws just under the lip at the top of the gauge cluster front(clear plastic cover) you should have access to them after dropping the column

5- clips are at the bottom of the whole drivers side leading edge of the dash trim, pop them away from the edge and the whole shabang can come out.

6- now theres 4 screws holding in the actual odo/speedo cluster, it is at the back of this you need to get at. pull it away down and out but doo not pull to hard, as there is little length to the harnesses at the back.

7.- You will see interspersed, little twist caps (they should be reddish in colour) these are the housings for the bulbs, line up to where you have a light out and replace!

Hope that helps.

It was a blown audio fuse. I have now wrapped all the exposed radio wires with tape until I can find a replacement harness and radio bezel.
