Hi, I am having issues with my Xterra... Sometimes while driving the doors will unlock themselves and the hazard lights come on.. And today the alarm starting turning on and off by itself.. it does it for a few minutes then stops... If anyone has any idea what could be causing this please let me know... It doesn't seem to be affecting the normal vehicle operation but it's quite annoying having the doors locking and unlocking while you're driving. I also hope this is not a symptom of a serious electrical problem... Any help that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated...

THANKS

No, it's not an after market alarm, it's the factory installed security system..I tried something yesterday, I didn't use the remote to lock and unlock the doors, I did it manually, and I didn't have a problem.. Could there possibly be something going on with the remote? I have 2 remotes, and it is doing it with both. I've replaced the batteries in both.. Are there any known issues with the remotes causing problems?

yeah, its fairly common for the remotes to mess up. sometimes just jiggling them the right way will make stuff happen. try shaking the mess out of the remote while in the vehicle.
