electrical issues (very bad)

well i was driving the other day and I noticed that my tach lights were diming and they became weaker and weaker and reminded me of the time when my alternator went out so i stop the car and inspect and i spoted this wire that powers the alternator was rusted and snaped off. i went to my local advanced auto and got a similar cable. I jump started my car and my lights dont pop up none of the interior electronics work ( radio, cluster) i cheked fuses but everything seems fine.
