Sounds almost fuse related.

Here's the section of the FSM that will be of interest to you:

Only happens in the rain ??Sounds like a uninsulated wire somewhere.

To clear clogged sunroof drains, use canned air(the type used for clearing computer keyboards). The drains are in the front corners of the sunroof frame. Spray air gently into them, don't force it. The drain tube gets delicate with age.

Speaking of fuses, reason I was scanning this forum was I was looking for discussion on a specific electrical problem - while driving home, my dashboard lights all went out (all dashboard gauges, heater/ac/console background or outline lights - although the heater/ac display is ok and radio is aftermarket so its still on) and my headlights are stuck on high-beam.

Tried looking for similar discussion until I got to page 12 and didn't find any. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Sounds like the dimmer switch over on the left of the steering wheel.Give it a good SMACK and see if they come back on.If so you have a cold solder joint on the connector or the switch is bad.

The headlights thing may be the headlight relayin the engine bay.Common problem on the J's.
