So there's a 75A fuse under the hood which the previous owner of my Z32 blew and decided to bypass by placing a wire through the fuse so the current always flows. This gave me some electrical like shutting off the car and not allowing it to crank etc. I replaced this fuse. But both the dome lights are out, my clock is out, my cigarette lighter is out and my radio is out; everything else in the car is fully functional and all the fuses are good. Anyone experience this before? Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thank you for the inputs.

I've had this problem before and just fixed it i believe. I had to remove my stereo and there were 2 wires that fixed the problem. a red wire and a yellow wire. i touched them together and the dome lights cig lighter etc came back on. You just have to plug them into the stereo. the yellow with the yellow wire and the red with the red wire. Hope this helps

All those symptoms are the exact same as when the 10A "Theft Room L" in the engine bay, driver's side fuse panel blows.

I still haven't had any time to work on it but as soon as I figure it out I will let everyone know. Hopefully it will be this weekend.

So I replaced the Theft Room L fuse and got power to my center console, everything worked flawlessly. But Now, the car won't even crank. In the fuse box that's in the engine bay I get no power to the Engine Control fuse, Air Conditioning Fuse, Stop Lamp Fuse, Horn fuse, RH headlamp fuse, LH headlamp fuse, shift lock, or theft room l. In the passenger compartment's fuse box I get no power the entire bottom row which consists of Door Lock, EGI, EPS Hicas, Turn Signal, ASCD A/T Control and Back Door Lock. I've removed all the relays and tested them individually and they all work fine. Any ideas on what's going in?

Sounds like some fuse links in under hood fuse panel. There may be a problem with the theft system. You might try unplugging the fuse and see what happens.

checked all fusible links under the hood, the fusible links themselves are in working order and i have power going into them and power coming out of them to continue the path of the circuits which they pertain to. pulled the fuse out for the theft system and still nothing.

Check battery connection of the power supply to fuse panel I think it's a white wire. The white wire is supplies power to the fuse panel and is shared with the charging system. Check the 75a fuse to the alternator, I think either its blown again or you have a bad connection on this circuit. Trace the white wire from the fuse link panel to the alternator and fuse relay panel. Somewhere between maxi fuse and fuse relay panel is your problem. Since previous owner had a jumper wire in the fuse I would check harness close to alternator for chaffing or shorting to engine and blowing fuse.

So wait... it started before you replaced "theft room L"?

Ok so I found the problem, fusible link 5 supplies power to the fuse box on the driver side of the engine bay. Fusible link five was blown, the top of the fuse was broken and it would tap the other side intermittenly. So the car is running, now I just need to find out what's the reason I'm misfiring but it's probably the spark plug wires being fouled out from the full tank of 100 octane.

Spark plug wires being fouled from 100 octane? I kinda doubt that is the cause, unless it was being driven autocross hard for the entire tank. Might want to ohm your injectors as well. Glad to hear you got it running though!

well the car was running a little rich to begin with, i don't know when the last time the plugs were replaced and i did drive it hard for the full tank so i'm just assuming the 100 octane with the driving finished fouling them out. do you happen to know the resistance spec for the injectors?

i doubt 100 hi octane can cause that problem...it's actually good for the car

Agreed! 100 octane will not hurt your plugs or wires. All octane means is the resistance to detonation. It takes more heat/pressure to ignite it. Not gonna bother your plugs.

I'd bet injector, or coil. Not that it's a bad idea to change the plugs/wires, but the gas didn't wreck em.
