electrical issue

im having some kind of electrical issue with my 95 240. the battery seems to drain out, if i leave the cables connected. i disconnected the cables from the battery and hooked it back up the next day and it worked fine. alternator is new. battery is about 4 months old.

i can only think of a couple of things that it could be

1 a bad negative cable. 2 a short somewhere in the wiring(i wouldn't even know where to start)

if any one can help me out i would appreciate it.
