After having my battery replaced yesterday my analog clock won't move (backlight is OK), homelink won't work and rain-sensing wipers don't work. I've learned that there is an extended storage switch that might do this, but it is fully depressed. Someone mentioned an 'Elect Parts' fuse. I found one near the top left of the fuse panel by the driver's left foot. It was good. Anyone have any suggestions where I might look next?

Thanks.

I believe you are looking for fuse #6 at the drivers left foot.

Thanks. That looks like where the ESS is. Does that need to be removed to get to the fuse underneath?

This should be the fuse block near the drivers left foot.

Thanks. Mine looks like the one one the right with the ESS block over the fuse, so I'll need to remove that to get to the fuse behind it. I'll check it tonight and post for the next guy that runs into this. :gotme

That was the one. Thanks fir the help. That ESS block comes out with some pulling and wiggling, and the fuse will be stuck to the back of it.

Wait, what ESS block? Maybe this is why my dome lights don't work when my door is opened (I fried a fuse somewhere trying to change the interior bulbs to LED). More information please...

ESS = Extended Storage Switch. That would be very cool if this fixed your issue. I'm rooting for you.

Which cars have this? All M's? Cause I don't remember seeing this when I was trying to find the fuse. I have the 14 speaker system (whatever package that is) with Nav/XM, AFS, etc.

For what it's worth, when my ESS fuse blew I lost the analog clock, homelink and rain-sensing wipers. My lights all still worked.

Its been a few months and I've gotten used to it. Eventually I'll go to the dealer (after putting stock bulbs in) and just play stupid..."I dunno, the other day it stopped working." Have to go to the dealer for other stuff too (crazy whine from something in the engine bay when the weather is -10 like it was this morning, etc.)

I was dreading the thought of having to bring it to the deal. Good luck with it.

I have warranty so...unless they can prove I did it, they'll be fixing it lol.
