electrical help.

I posted before without much help. And i see others expiriencing same problems and no one is posting a final solution.

So everything worked and rhan dash lights went offf back on off and never came back since.

Now i have 89 s13 usdm, no hud and no stereo installed even before the problem. Headlights and highbeams work, brake lights work, turn and emergency lights work. Interior lights work.Running lights and dash lights don't.So far i have changed: alternator fuse, cluster and bulbs,tcu unit(ps it did burn out), changed alternator itself, checked fusses 3 times in the cabin under the hood using multi meter. Checked all my lightbulbs with multimeter. Is there some relays also? (i am no good at wiring diagrams) I am no electrician but i used connection check function on multimeter on every socket for a lightbults i go to - and + wires and i get a "beep" so it seems grounds are good and there is no brake in connection so wtf?

Now whats next? I am getting a dimmer unit and going to replace the acctual switch itself tonight.

Past that i dunno what to do? Anyone fixed their issue what was it? Are license plate bulbs on the same cercuit anyone know?

Now related or not My reverse lights stoped working about a week after , i assume its the switch in the transmission that requires replacement or re-wiring.Bulbs are good and again + to - beeps.

Also at about the same time my brake light began flashing and a big 100pin some connector near cabin fuse panel is buzzing on and off. Separate issue but looks like a short somewhere (checked e-brake connection its clean and no change if i ground it, master cylinder switch is also good)

So seems like electrical nighmare. I am willing to battle it but need guidance.

It sounds like a bad relay or dimmer switch. I would start with the dimmer switch first. I have an extra one if need it for $259.99. J/k about the price

do any of the other interior lights work when you turn the headlight switch on or is it just those two items?

The headlight switch controls the A/C control unit, gauge cluster and of course, the outside lights (parking, sidemarkers, tail lights and headlights).

theres a wiring diagram in the fsm that could help trace down the problem
