Obviously as it says theft, I assume it goes to the security system and the Interior Lighting

I'm trying to locate a draw on battery, if I unplug this fuse or the LTG fuse by the battery, the draw goes away, (however the ABS light stays on)
I have unplugged everything by the ECU which was two boxes and two relays, still have a draw on the battery

can anyone tell me what I should unplug and/or look for

I'm trying to help my neighbor who owns this car but is frustrated with the battery going dead, so much so they want to get rid of the car which is a shame, please save this wonderful car from falling into the wrongs hands and going to poo

thank you very much and Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Have a Happy New Year (If your holiday wasn't mentioned have a Merry Christmas anyway :rotflmao )

It also looks like the room lamp. Make sure all the interior light bulbs come on when you open the doors. And I mean ALL of them. One of the worst electrical drain problems I ever came across when a stuck shut interior light switch (the ones in the doors). The issue was that the bulb was burnt out, but had failed in such a way that it didn't illuminate, but it still had continuity. I had dismissed it as being a problem because the light didn't come on.

all the lights are working, (the dome light on the top wasn't but I removed it) is anything else powered by it, anything else I can try?

I really appreciate the help

(sorry about posting a couple of times about it, I though explaining it a different way would get a response)

I'm not a Z32 guru, but I know that you can download the Factory Service Manual from our site. If you haven't done so, it's a great resource. Once you have that, you should be able to locate the theft control module and remove it. That should be the only other thing on that circuit, unless Nissan didn't label it, but they don't often do stuff like that.

I just thought of this. Does the car have any aftermarket stereo/alarm/remote start/etc? Maybe they piggybacked off of that fuse and that is what the drain is from.

nothing aftermarket, and I unplugged everything but the ecu under the passenger floorboard which was two boxes and two relays

I have the fsm, it reads very confusing to say the least, I'm sure if I were to look at it all days for a few days flipping back and forth I would still not find what I'm looking for

It looks like no one else has had this problem or something, maybe the right person hasn't come across it due to the holidays etc.

If anyone can offer some insight from experience with this I would greatly appreciate it

Otherwise I will have to resort to gutting the car and taking out the electrical system

thank you

I had a problem with my car pulling the battery down, then the alarm went off one day and I couldn't get it to stop. So i pulled that 10A fuse and dealt with no dome light. The way I'm gonna fix it is take the alarm system out since it's next to the ecu and I'm gonna be in there anyways replacing the EFI harness

If pulling that fuse fixes it, it's most likely a stereo issue, as that fuse controls anti-theft, interior lighting, and stereo. Check all the stereo wiring harness connections and make sure everything is wired correctly.

awesome thanks for the reply, I will pull the stereo tomorrow as it's 2:30
it is a stock stereo but I've seen stranger things

I will report back as I detest those that get help in a forum and then didn't post results for others to see

thanks again

LOL, we hate that too. Nothing worse than trying to help someone and then they evaporate.

still fighting with this, I have taken the stereo out, (disconnected the headlights turn signals etc. however I think it just powers the lights in the car unless I'm mistaken)

I have taken out the relay that is by the back of the drivers seat belt

in addition to the two modules that are by the ecu

still a significant draw on the battery .4 amps, when either this 10amp fuse or the 30amp LTG fuse (located by the battery) is removed it drops to .001amps

please help :ohno:

Can anyone tell me where all the interior lights are, I'm thinking I can pull them all out and see if that helps

I'm really at a loss as to what to do, if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it :)

How are you testing current draw? Do you have a loop type ammeter, or an inline?

I have this multimeter
http://www.extech.com/instruments/produ ... prodid=535

Because it's a clamp on, DC capable ammeter, you can isolate individual wires on a circuit like this and see which one is drawing current. I think that you're in a position that is going to require something similar to this.

You're going to have to access the back of the fuse boxes so that you can get to the individual wires on the fuses in question. Once you have isolated which wire is drawing current, you can then look at the FSM and see what ciruit that wire correlates to. That should narrow this issue down drastically.

I have looked at the wires that are going into the fuse it is a small yellow one and a blue one iirc

I have an inline one, but can get a loop one, I'm just used to testing the wire directly where it terminates or using a t-pin to probe it, I'm really not trying to pull all the wiring out to get a loop around it, but it looks like I'm going to have to

*Can anyone tell me all off the lights in the interior so I can pull them, I know there is a dome light, map lights, a light in the dash on each side and the trunk light, is there anything else?

On mine, when Theft Room L is pulled, none of the interior lights work. If they are still on, then you have a short somewhere, which would explain the draw.

the lights don't work when either fuse is pulled IIRC, sorry if there was confusion

after pulling a bunch of electrical items and putting them back, the problem has resolved itself which is even more frustrating because I never got an answer and it could happen again, although it has been months with no issues

LOL, your car was infected with a Windows 98 virus. I needed shut down and restarted to resolve the issue.
