I am not expecting an answer, but it's worth a shot in the dark.
I recently dropped a 2JZ into my S13 and I am using a Haltech PS2000 for my engine management. Sometimes (and believe me this is completely random), after a drive, I turn the key off yet the dash lights stay lit, including the E-brake one, whether the e-brake is active or not. When it occurs, sometimes it will stay on for a few seconds, sometimes a few minutes, other times I don't even know how long it stays active.
In addition to this, if I have the e-brake de-activated and turn the switch to position 1, the e-brake light will come on but with low intensity, as if there is only 7 or 8 volts at the light and not the full 12. If I pull up on the e-brake the light goes off...and it goes back on when I put the lever back down. Once I turn the key off it goes away.
I am going to go through all my circuits one by one starting with the instrument cluster to find out where that mysterious voltage is coming from.I anticipate long hours spent on Alldata software trying to trace these wires.
The only thing that is different is the previous owner has an alarm installed which I do not use because the car doesn't have power door locks. The first thing I am going to do is remove that to get its cluttered mess out of my way. I have already bypassed it's circuitry with jumpers and these conditions still occur, so I doubt the alarm has anything to do with it.
I hate these gremlins!
---I'll add this: I just turned the key to position one with the e-brake lever down (off) and I pulled the connector off of it. I checked voltage inside the connector (which goes back up to the instrument cluster) and I saw 7.49v on that side...hence the low glow I was seeing from the e-brake. That circuit seems simple so I am not sure where the voltage is seeping from.
