My son was changing the battery on my 86 300zx NT. Somehow got cables mixed. Car got zapped. Smoke was coming from the little black thing by the battery. It is labeled EGI Inject and cont are 2 of em. Anyways, initially after I came and started car.... Everything was good. Ran fine, then died. Can that little box be replaced or was something bigger the issue? I don't hear injectors running when I turn key to aux anymore. I'm sick to my stomach about this. Any guidance appreciated

So after some digging, as well as checking continuity of fusible links I believe my ecu was fried. Yay! Does anyone know if you can swap from same car without reprogramming vin? I'm weighing the option of buying a new one or a used one. The used if from same year, mt, NA just like mine.

Any Z31 ECU should work as long as its NA to NA or Turbo to Turbo. At least that's how it is on the Z32
