Alright so I recently bought a 89 240 with a redtop swap. I've been slowly cleaning it up. I just installed coilovers, tension rods, toe arms, stripped her down to get ready for some track time. So I changed the oil on it the first week I had it home. I did a dumb thing haha. I was trying to get to the oil filter and accidently touched the alternator and part of the chasis and passed a current. Ever since that event the car is acting crazy. When I start the car no power features work in the car until I hit the throttle. When blib the throttle the wipers come on once and the electric seat belts close and I can use the power windows etc... If I dont hit the throttle and leave the car idling nothing works. Its crazy. so I've ignored that for the meantime since I was focusing on suspension install. Today I finished the coilovers etc.. thought I'd go for a drive to see how it felt. When I started the car it idled funny then I went to blip the throttle like usual it acted like it wanted to die it wouldn't rev up just hesistate. Finally after a couple attempts it reved up and I was off. I drove for about 10min pushed the car a little and suddenly it wouldn't rev over 4000 rpm. When I got home I left it idling rough. I would try to hit the throttle and it would only rev to 2k and no farther. I tried it a couple more times same thing. So turned it off disconnected the battery waited for a while reconnected it and tried to turn the car on and nothing. Car wont start and when I turn the key to the on position I cant do anything nothing is powered. Windows wont work nothing. Oh yeah but I can still turn the headlights on. Very strange. So I'm asking everyone for your input. I'm really lost with the electrical issues. Thanks for reading.

Thanks

Check all your fuses and the fusible link under the hood. My money is on fusible link.

Don't bother with the cas, it would just affect how the engine runs and nothing else.

So the car not starting is probably a fuse? Thanks alot I'll get out there and check it out. I'll let you know what I find if anything.

So I checked it out turned out to be the 75 amp fuse under the hood by passenger headlight. thanks.
