Electrical annomaly!!!

My '88 path has the L headlight out sometimes. The high beams work and every once in a while the low beam will come on. The voltmeter reads identical to the R side with both H and L. The bulbs both work on the low and high on R side, and high on L but not low. Completely confused on where to go next for shortage or loop in circuitry. Any please help or send ideas!!!thanx!

i believe your truck uses the 2 filament bulbs so the low beam filament must be blown on the L side. you can simply switch the bulbs from L - R to see if its the low filament or an actual wiring problem on your L side.
