Hi I have a 1997 nissan sentra .The pasenger window would not drive up. I took 12 volts directly to the motor I can drive up and down directly, but only down with the system conected normaly. I have checked the voltage at the plug to motor location and I get neg 12 volts and pos 12 volts. But still it will only move down. Is there a master controll box. Dose it have special curent limiting? Where is it located. Any help would much appreciated Regards Peter

Most likely it's the switch itself that has gone bad. You can try opening it up and check the contacts. If you cannot find the source of the problem there, eBay has used ones - there's a bunch of them. Here's one link

Thanks for you reply. Yes maybe a high resistance on a contact allowing the voltage to test ok but not allow any current. You mention opening up the switch, is this easy or will it hard to reassemble?

You're testing voltage at the plug which is fine so it's almost certain that the fault is in the switch itself which makes its contacts on a circuit board. You're better off justing buying a used one as they are pretty cheap.
