I was watching speed tv, and saw something about an electric supercharger named E-Ram that produces 1psi (I know it's not alot, but I just wanted to see if it makes a noticable difference). I decided to try it and see what it's all about. Like an idiot, I installed it THEN tested. and I found out the switch that turns on at full trottle sucks and sticks 75% of the time it's turned on... I just got done taking it for a test drive, and I think my car is actually running slower than before I installed it.I have AEM intake, so I was having problems getting it to fit after the MAF, so I installed it before. Could that be the problem? or is my engine just "choking" it'self when the switch gets stuck? If anyone has any advice, it would be appreciated.

Yeah, it's nothing much, basically a leaf blower hooked up to a throttle switch and a fuse, lol. But I will post when I get the pictures ready.

what did you get your power from? Your gonna need more than just 12 volts for that thing to help any! I would suggest running it from the alternator so it gets max power. I still would not give much credit tho. IF you need to go electric try getting a converter to run off 110 or 220 volts. that would be able to turn an electric motor fast enough, but still ****ty.......

do it right get a real snail.

As for the maf thing you asked yeah it would make sense that if you had it before the maf it may distort the signal some. If it is after the maf it may increase power more simply due to the air is "not metered by the maf so you would run a bit leaner than stock... a ka runs a bit rich ....

Yeah, I was thinking it was suppose to wire up to the alternator myself. But when I saw the directions, it said to connect to the battery Even though it IS connected to the battery, it's still ... and I use this word leaneatly... 'strong'. I guess I need to wait till my next off day from work to tinker around with it *sigh*.

Update: I re-adjusted the trigger (Further away from the pedal) and now it doesn't seem to be sticking. Before I installed the E-Ram, 1st and 2nd gear would burn out, and 3rd would barely. I just tested my car again, now that the trigger is working better, and 3rd gear seemed to burn out with the same ease as 1st and 2nd. I am thinking the little electric supercharger actually works (Even though it doesn't compare to a 'true' supercharger). I guess I need to take it to the track and get it dyno'd, then hook it up to the alternator and see if I can prod any more power from it.

Pics will be coming soon.

If you are hooked directly to the battery then you should also be hooked directly to the charging system, no reason to change where your wires are connected, unless you are removing it!

You would be better off with a ram air intake. Forget leaf blowers, if your really lucky they MIGHT work better than the average aftermarket hot air intake, but even so its still stupid. All of these companies market crap "cold air" and "short ram" intakes and they are ok sometimes, but often they make less power than stock. And (power wise) ANY intake that pulls air from the engine bay is stupid, if you dont believe me, put an outdoor thermometer on your fender well, where most everyone has their little cone filters and go for a spirited drive for say 20-30 minutes.

Nothing can beat an air box that becomes pressurized with outside air at speed. A filter that has a good amount of surface area. And a venturi shape protruding into the air box on the end of a tube that makes smooth gradual bends around whatever it needs to on its way to the intake manifold. K.I.S.S. is my advice.

Well that's the thing I love about 240's, from when I removed the stock cold air intake, there is still the tube that feeds outside air (The AEM filter is right above this tube). Granted the air isn't as cold as a 100% cold air intake, it still has outside air, and the filter/intake isn't near as restrictive.

And again, I know the electric supercharger isn't anything near wonderful, I am just wanting to find out how I can get the most power from it.
