What the hell? Why on earth would you want to swap out a 13BREW for a Siemens Electric engine that only puts out 78.4 kw of power? And linear torque? Lame. That's no fun to drive. The freaking FD was meant to be fun, not retarded. I guess it's innovative, but it sure as hell isn't my thing.

Very impressive, but not my cup ' tea either. You gotta give props on the innovation however.

I'd give props if it could at least go 100 miles on a charge, I mean it IS unique and in a weird non RX-7 way, cool...but 10 miles? even 30 on a new battery pack SUCKS.

"The gas engine is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder that develops 70 hp and 82 ft.-lb. of torque. It has no alternator or starter. It's started by the generator. The main electric motor can deliver a hefty 258 ft.-lb. of torque." This was taken from http://popularmechanics.com/au...phtml in reference to the Toyota Prius...apparently they had to limit the torque output because it has such skinny little tires! It seems that it might be possible with those kind of torque numbers to have a decently fast electric car...of course you'd burn through a lot more battery life that way. What do you guys think? isnt that a lot for an electric engine?

Electric engines are notorious for high torque output. They just can't turn any RPMs. So yeah, you could pull a tank, but you can't go the speedlimit :)

Ahhh, thanks for the clarification, shows you how much I know about electric engine...not that I have any need for that knowledge, I will resist the electric car as long as I possibly can :)

I can tune electric! We have these little cars here that run in high walled tracks, about the size of your hands and they friggin rip! Mostly kids do it and they are ruthless. I bring mine out to the races and these kids are all business. One kid walks up to me while I'm wrenching and asks to look at my car. He puts it down whips out a ruler, starts measuring and pointing out changes that need to be made. I don't have an ego problem and this kid is consistently edging me out so I do what he tells me. It worked! This kid was like six, how cool is he!They are so fun but some of the older Japanese guys are mean to the little kids. I pull them off to the side and ask them if they want to try that crap with me in real cars, they chill out. I don't want to see electric cars replace gas ones but they could be fun to tune. Although an RB never electrocuted someone:(
