i can get an electric power steering pump from a toyota mr2 and that'll free up a lot of low end power but i have no idea how the power steering works on my max. i have a general idea but idk what regulates the pressure from the pump when turning stopped, rollin slow or going fast? is it based on the pump speed or something else?

I doubt it'd be worth the hassles you'd run into. Electric power steering tends to suck anyway. Or is it hydraulic power steering with an electric pump?

yes, it's electro-hydrolic. i thought about getting rid of the ps system but it might suck in parking lots.

Could be worth it, then. I'm sure SOMEONE has done it. Can't hurt to read through the power steering section of the FSM to gain some insight.

tried, but couldn't find a whole schematic of the system - only components which doesn't give me much - i'm a big pic kinda guy i thought about using the mr2 ps ecu which would be the easiest but more expen$ive.

i hope someone else's done it because i could use a write up
