Hey guys as title says every time i release the clutch there is this wurring sound that sounds just like an electric motor. From what I've read it seems like the throwout bearing is going bad. I haven't dropped the transmission yet b/c i don't really fell like dropping to see if its bad then putting the effer back on then getting parts and crap. I've traced the noise back to the transmission and from what i can figure that's the part.

Just wanted to see if you guys had any input on what else it is so im not wasting my time and money. Oh ya since the transmission will be down and I've never changed the clutch i was gonna upgrade to a spec stage 3 clutch. Since im there might as well.

Yeh, its most likely the throw out bearing. my advice is to drop your transmission as soon as possible.

I heard the same sound from mine and 3 days later i had no clutch. Not only did it destroy the throw out bearing but messed up the pressure plate, slave cylinder, and ACT stage 3 clutch.

So $600 later i put a stage 4 Competition Clutch in.

Catch it early man and fix it.

It could also be your input shaft bearing in the transmission itself...another common failure item

Lil update, finished the clutch swap replaced with a stage 3 from spec. Got the flywheel resurfaced at AAMCO for 30 bucks. I had a ***** of a time getting pressure in the clutch, so I removed the clutch dampner box and bent the hard line around to fit to the clutch hose. Problem there b.c i effed up the fitting and had to cut the flair off and try another fitting. Problem there is no matter how many times I reflaired the end it would not seal properly. So i headed to the junk yard and got the left front brake line off a vert 240. Rebent that and now i have great clutch pressure( till the ss line gets here monday) but the god damn noise is still there. As cody suggested Im thinking its the input shaft bearing. From what everyone else has said about this the best/easiest is to get a new trans or rebuilt one. B/c apparently is very hard to remove and reinstall the bearing. Any one else got any opinions????
