I'm having to push the unlock buttom while at the same time opening the inside door handle to get out of my car and to get in I may have to turn the key while opening the handle. I can not leave the key in the car because it will lock. Some times I can't even flip the inside unlock switch. Sometimes when I hit the unlock button the fricken thing keeps clicking and clicking and clicking and clicking and clicking and clicking and .......well you get the picture. This system is not easy to work on either. This will make the second time I've had to "try" to fix this problem.

I wish there was an expert somewhere who could fix this for good but I hear alot of horror stories about mechs. and dealerships who just can't fix these types of problems. Uuurrrrgggghhhhhh!

I am right there with you, red. My passenger door is posessed.

I have a "new" module for the passenger door, that I hope will fix my problem. I really thought it was a linkage jamming that was kicking the solenoid back, but it seems to be electrical on mine. I have narrowed it down to the passenger front door. It is either the LC module, or a loose wire, or Japanese gremlins.

I have to keep my keys in my pocket all the time, just in case. I wish I had one of those real thin emergency keys like on my 2000 I30t, then I could keep it in my wallet.

I guess I could keep a spare hidden on the car somewhere.

They made wallet keys for the Q.If the previous owners didn't use up all of the spares Infinity has.You should ask the dealer;one may still be available. It won't fix the car,but it might make living with the problem a little easier.

Have you tried doing the LAN trouble diagnosis-Mode 1 described in the EL section of the FSM? I've got a 94 so the page #'s may not be the same, but it's a simple procedure described on page EL-80, a sequence of turning the ignition on and off along with pushing the defrost button 10 times and watching the overhead light flash the codes.

There are 11 local control units (LCU), the one in the driver's door is LCU-01-A. If it's code comes up you've isolated the problem and can replace the LCU. When I did the test I got no errors so looked elsewhere for my problem. For your issue there should be an error code come up since the power door lock switch is one of the things that gets diagnosed.

Read through LAN System Description and LAN Trouble Diagnosis (EL-71 to EL-81) in the FSM for the test procedure. Good luck.

'92s like his don't have a LAN.

Redman - Remove the console and unplug the central lock timer. That at least will prevent a bad lock switch or module on one of the front doors from locking all the doors.

Then you can at least isolate it to the bad area of the wiring.

I did the LAN test when the doors started refusing to lock. It was the driver's rear module. I replaced it and everything went back to it's posessed state. No LAN codes. I even replaced the BCM. I truely believe it is a loose wire or ground on my car.

Darn Gremlins! At least field mice leave droppings so you know they've been there.

I'll try doing that along with a few other things I have in mind. Man this would go a long way to beating one of the last gremlins my car has. Once fixed the speakers would be the last.
