I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx. My Gauges gave really slow response time. My rpm is always stuck a 1,500 when dead. And when started and i rev her up shes moves so slow and comes back down slow. My speedometer does the same thing. Also i dont even think my temp gauge works. It always stays about a quarter up and never moves. Shs revs to high, its an auto. She doesnt shift and the correct times i want it to. The oils and such are all good. Not low on anything. trans, diff, oil, everythings in check. Car sat around for a while. Picked up for 1000. Also just replaced alternator. I just wanna fix my gauges. any tip on how or what i need to get?

Check your battery, see if it gets all 12 volts when the car is off. iff all gagues are acting up it may be a bad ground.

It could just be the gauges themselves. If anybody has messed with the needles they can be stuck. I put some leds in behind my needles and oh man it was a b*tch getting those things working again right when I put them back in. Then have to be in just perfectly to work properly. If they're pushed in just a little too far they won't move at all. If not in far enough same thing or they'd get stuck. I'd take the clear cover off of the assembly and start messing with the needles. See if that's just the problem.
