I want to convert the fan on my 98 to electic fans. When I looked at my friends Maxima recently something sparked my interest. FWD Nissans use electric fans. The older Altamas use the KA...maybe it has the same size radiator. Is it possible to fit the Altama or even Maxima fans and shroud onto my radiator?

Unless you were going to slap an SR or other motor, there is no point for the electric fans. Sure there is the fact that itll make your engine bay look a little bit better, but thats about it. There are some interesting write-ups comparing manual fans to electric on this board somewhere. But they summarize that, while you might gain a little power from freeing weight from a pulley, your alternator will not last as long as it should since electric fans draw craploads of power, ususally about 30 amps, and since we have, I think a 75 amp alternator, and with most electrical connections in parallel, the current gets used up fast. Anyway, we already have electric fans on our cars, just turn your A/C on.

Well on the http://www.240sx.org page it shows how to wire the existing fan to run all the time, but I would b scared to that. Esp. summers in South Carolina where even though its November were still weaing shorts. Also I do a lot of traveling...so I'm scared of only having the stock punny one. I'm going to email that guy. Thanks!

i put dual maxima fans on my s13 and had little problems since. the brackets won't line up so just ziptie it to your radiator. then wire it up using existing wires from the old fan. very easy and have had now problems whatsoever.

i have the stock 91+ fan wired to be on all the time, ive never had a problem on 100 degree plus days, pushing it on back roads, or sitting in traffic. makes the car 50x easier to work on IMHO.
