i was wondering about installing electric fans into my car. i've heard that they work as well if not better then the belt driven fans and i might get a little more power. i was wondering how hard it is to do it and how much it would cost. also where a good place to get the fans from. any info on the subject would be of great help. thanks guys and take it easy.

Wiring them can be from easy to hard. Depends if you want it always on with ignition, switched on manually, or controlled by a temperature probe. Whatever way you choose you're going to have to do some wiring with a relay so you need to know some basic wiring.

Cost? depends, look around at online stores, Some guys put dual12's, some guys put OEM elec fans from other makes on all with good results. Electric fans just free up alot of room in the engine bay. The stock clutch fan and shroud work very very good.

I doubt there is hardly any gain from switching from crank driven to electric. Not 100% sure but I head of guys using the single altima or maxima fan, I guess you can find them cheap in junkyards and work well. Having it probe controlled might be a bit tough to wire if you aren't familiar with wiring. But like the guy above me said, the clutch fan WITH the shroud work very well.

taurus v6 89 and up owns everything out there. Be ready to change alternators periodically though if you don't wire it properly.
