Ok, who here has a opinion on which is better and they like more. Currently I have a electric fan on my 240 that is controlled by a switch. I was just wondering which you guys have and/or like better, etc. etc.

Well I have both, due to the Stanza fans I installed having several speeds, I put in two circuits, one thermostat and one dash switch. If one is on, fans run at medium speed, if both are on, high speed.I got an adjustable thermo switch from advance auto for about $20. It uses a little probe that mounts up against the radiator. It was a snap to install and works OK, there's a little time lag for the temp of the probe to catch up with the temp of the radiator, but if you have it hooked up to an ignition switched circuit you can just set it a little cooler if it's taking too long to come on.

I have my thermo switch circuit wired directly to the battery so I have to be careful with the temp setting. I change the setting between winter and summer, I like the fans to run about 3-10 minutes after engine shutdown, if it's gotten warm enough to kick them on, but no longer than that.

Ok if you use electric fans is there really an advantage to getting a nismo thermostat? Essentially I have never thought about the thermostat affecting other stuff, what else does it effect(even slightly)? Are the DE and E thermos different? Not trying to be a thread jakker, just thought it might help decide.

Yes, I plan on doing this myself. It makes the motor operate at a lower average temperature by a mechanical method. Fans are just to cool the radiator juice while you are sitting still.

my plan is to connect one all the time to the temp...and then one by a switch. generally during the winter my car never heats up so that is when i will be running one...but during the summer it is both on full blast all the time.
