my electric fans arent coming on because the wires are cut, and i need to know where to splice them back in or hook them up. on both fans there are two plugs one with three white wires and one with one black wire i believe, i didnt know if i just needed to splice alll them together or if they both hook up to something different, any help is appreciated!! im tired of my car over heating.

are these new/recently installed fans or did you have them working before?

the black wire is your ground, but normally you just need 1 other wire for your 12V hot, which you should have hooked up to a fan controller, a switch in the dash(not a good idea though, if you forget to turn them off it will kill you battery), or a relay network powered by the fuel pump relay.

I would ground the black wire on the chassis, then put 12V from the battery on each of the white wires to see which on is the hot lead(it will be the one that turns the fans on).

Hooking them up to be on with ignition isn't proper. Our cars are designed to run in a certain temp range. Running the fans constantly or removing the thermostat will not let the engine get to and maintain proper temperature.

I strongly recommend using a fuse, relay, and thermostatic switch to run the fans.If you can't wire them up properly, don't switch to electric fans. I don't know why people are willing to destroy their engines to free up the whole 1HP the fan clutch uses...
