I'm using the diagram below (found online) to wire my 2 electric fans in my S13. The fans are 80 watts at 12 volts. I found that Amps are Watts/Volts, so that would be 6.8 amps per fan; 12.6 total. The rocker switch I bought is good for 30 amps. Do I have to run the relay in there? I have it like that now and it isn't working.

Yet, now that I think about it, I might have connected the switch and 30 off the relay both off 12 volt source. Should 30 off the relay be run up off the 12 volts like in the diagram? I'm using 12 volts off the radio, as the battery is in the hatch. Thanks

You don't have to run any relays.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but I just run my fans to a switch, and that's it. When I want them on, I flick the switch. When I want them off, I flick the switch.

Easy.

lol hey that's mine.

That's exactly how I did mine, and I've yet to have any problems with it on the track.

I always preferred putting the switch on ground, so i'm not running a long hot line through the bay/dash.

or you cold use the the two wires tjhat are for the fans that come out of the relay box.. just saying. i had a switch and i always forgot to turn them on or off. so i just wired them to the little orange and black wires where the battery is. and they come on when the ecu thinks the engines getting hot.

I run mine off of a switch, but the power is taken from somewhere that is dead when the car is off. That way i cant forget to turn them off (they are super loud so i dont think i could forget em). Mind you i didnt wire them myself, they came that way when i bought the car. the souce also happens to be live when my headlights are turned on and i dont know if that is normal or not lol. Really, i only turn mine off when im driving on the highway in spring/fall, but that could just be me.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll see what I can over the next few days; was going to today but got into a car accident. I was driving my mom's Honda Odyssey (Good thing it wasn't the S13) and got t-boned by a dodge ram, as I was coming out of the post office. The Odyssey landed on the roof and it was insane. I'm fine though. Be safe out there guys!
