Y. Here's what I did:

AshSPECZ double-pass rad & 16" fan

Also get the SPAL Temp Sensor and Fan relay from ebay. I found it cheapest here and they deliver quickly:

It makes installation ridiculously easy!

There is an orange and gray wire built into the kit...gray to (-) switch, orange to (+) ACC.

*Note: In order to defeat the 203 degree fan circuit turn on from ECU, I installed a separate relay (30A SPDT) and a small on/off override switch to basically turn the fan on whenever I needed it. Then attached the ECU fan turn on wire (negative pulse) to the trigger input making sure to add a diode to keep current flow in check.

"...The pin you are looking for is pin#19 - the wire is blue in color and is 2 positions out from the center bolt. The connection completes a ground when the ECU turns on the fan - connect this wire to a control relay's electromagnet and the other end of the relay to a (+) power source. On the relay switch side, you can run the power to the fan and use the relay's switch to complete the ground for the electric fan..."

That was just about it. It was a fun install and now my cooling is in play for the next stages of upgrades.

I hope you find this information useful and be sure to check before you splice and solder.

PM me if you need more details, but it would be best for all to view the info.

Ideally the larger the fan, the greater the CFMs that can move across your radiator. They also give additional protection to your oil cooler and condenser (which only turns on when absolutely necessary).

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front)
The 300zx, especially the twin-turbo was engineered with a smart and practical cooling system. It's only wen you begin to increase your stages of performance like engine mods and turbos do you need to worry about cooling. The SPAL 16" is loud, but it can definitely move some friggin air! Be sure to get a fan shroud to direct the air across the radiator otherwise it would be silly to install a performance fan, just to lose CFMs. :dblthumb:

Ideally finding an e-fan that matches the performance of the manual fan is very difficult, from what I have heard in the past the stock fan flows something like 3600CFM so if your looking for an e-fan that should be your guide to finding a fitting unit.
