Well, after months and months of changing my engine plans from KA-T, to RB, to SR, and all over again....i've decided to join you good people and get an SR20 S14 Blacktop. I'll be running a Koyo radiator, but i want some electric fans that will cool pretty efficiently. I was going to get x2 Flex-a-lite fans w/ thermostat. Has anyone had experience with these? What fans would you suggest?

Thanks,Chase

Well, welcome and I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Im certainly not :-)

I've seen x2 FAL fan on my friends car and it's a clean setup and it has a very low profile which makes things look even cleaner. Also, since it covers the entire radiator area, it offers better cooling.

You can just get a single 14" fan if you'd likel. Less money and won't cool as well but it does the job.

I have a 14" fan and it gets the job done for me.

Thanks for the quick response..

A clean setup is what i planned on, so I'll look into these FAL fans. Also, I meant to ask how you guys are controlling these things, like when the car shuts off. I've seen computerized fan controllers, but are they really worth it?

I have mine hooked up to the ign wire which causes the fan to be on at all times as long as my key is in ON position. This obviously is not the best way to do things.

You can control by a thermostat inline with your coolant or a thermostat probe that sticks in your radiator. Both does pretty much the same thing.

If you do get a controller like DiF... it certainly is cool but a fancy controller does not necessarily increase the cooling capacity of your cooling setup... just more efficient way to operate things. If you have the money, certainly go for it but if tight on budge... Id stick with a thermostat operated relay.

Are you running a Stock Sr radiator or a koyo, cuz i was wondering if a 14 inch blower can do the job for a stock sr radiator. thats wat im trying to get.

I personally do not like altima fans because they make the engine bay look like 5hit...

Dual FAL setup is MUCH MUCH cleaner looking and professional.

Altima fans are cheap tho...

if i remember correctly, doesn't only the fal X2 come with the relay while the single you have to wire to something like the ignition?
