I hooked up electric fans and I connected the positive to the Fuel Pump Fuse... after the fuse, not before it if you know what i mean.

Is this ok? This affects my car though. When I turn the car on, it stumbles a little. When I turn off the car, it takes 2 seconds before it turns off... I think it is because the fan is creating power to the fuel pump when it is winding down.

Thank you

Personally I don't think that its a good idea to have your fan hooked up to your fuel pump. Don't wan't to cause problems down the road. I used a thermo control switch off a 89 240sx and hooked it up to my 93 240sx. I have a positive wire off the battery with a 30 amp fuse going to one wire on the switch and the other wire off the switch to the fan. Ground the fan to the frame. it works out perfect.

The fuel pump fuse is only 15 amps if I remember, so don't be surprised if one day your car just "dies".

At least use a relay to the fuel pump fuse, or better yet, to the ignition, or even better, use an elecctric fan controller.

Most electric fans I know will at some point or another draw over 15 amps. Just wait for a hot summer day and the fan will draw too much current, blow the fuel pump fuse, and you'll be dead in the water. Much better to run a separate line with a fuse and relay(connected to positive battery terminal).

you can always just go to your local auto parts store and get a cheap fan controller, i got one for like 45 bucks and it works great.

NO NO NO NO NO!

Directly wirng a fan=badTapping into the fuel pump fuse for anything=bad

Like mentioned, you at least need to have the fan on a relay. Using a fan controller or a temp switch is always a better solution.

I donno about you guys but I can hear my fan if I leave it running and get out of the car, even in the car too. Plus I like being able to turn on my fans any time since I can leave them on at the track when I need too. Optima FTW.

Ive never had an issue with leaving my fans on though, and they are maxima fans with a HI on one fan and HI/LO on the other, and I used 3 nissan relays so they snapped into my fuse box and look OEM. And each fan half circut is fused. Its been on this 240 for over 10K and my old one for over 20K in only 2 1/2 years so no issues. I really need to do a writeup.....when it gets warmer I will.

Reading this reminds me of my dad. He has a camaro and kept having problems with the fan so he put in a toggle switch and a fusable link so he could turn the fan on. He adventually fixed it right when he got around to it. I think it's a bad idea. Yous should fix it right adventually. I think it's a better idea to just run it directly with a fuse the size of the normal fuse for the fans. If you don't have the cash to fix it right. Otherwise I would go ahead and fix it right since cooling is so important to the health of your engine.
