I noticed today that my electric fan stopped working, to which my radiator said forget it and decided to boil the fluid.

So I was wondering what the big advantage to using the electric fan vs just putting the stock one back in (besides the fact that I dont have one)? I think its just a wiring problem actually, and dont know if i did something when I was messing around with some of my other electrical crap. However since i have zero knowledge of electronics and what not I was wondering what are some places I should be checking and what to look for.

do you have an inline fuse hooked up? There should be fuses in the fans themselves. Check your wiring again and look for fuses.

if you did like me and just wired your fans to a switch then the switch itself may have melted. try wiring in a relay and fuse or inspecting the switch to see if thats the problem.

yea it coulda just melted it. i run my fans through one of the fuses in my fuse box. it was melted a while back when i checked it out, but the fuse still worked, so idk.. check and see if it is damaged.

and as for the advantage of electric fans vs stock, electric frees up a few ponies that are lost by having to spin that stock fan around. thats really the only thing i can think of, besides the fact that it frees up a bit of space in the engine bay, and i think stock fan is ugly! well thats my 2 cents

hmm..im thinking of just taking out the electric fan and sticking to the mechanical one since its so much easier to figure out...

any thoughts?
