When you run it to the battery, the voltage is fourteen,I'm just trying to help, and not to be mean.Your fuel pump probably pushes two less,Therefore you will not encounter as much success.

Just power the realy off the fuel pump fuse. Run the power for the fan straight off the battery. I tried to find a diagram but I can't.

You could always run it off your windshield wipers.

never a good idea to just run it through a toggle switch, always take the time and use a relay setup, I ran mine off a toggle switch for a few months until I caught my car on fire and took the extra fifteen minutes and wired up a relay, but if you're using a toggle switch at least have it switching the ground wire instead of having three foot of power wire running to the dash like yours truely

I just put a Derale adjustable fan thermostat kit p/n 16759 ($39 at summit). It will turn on the fan only when adjusted temp is reached AND the ignition is on, and/or can be wired to come on when the A/C is running. It has a relay and fuse, so it can be wired directly to battery or battery bus. It also has output for dual fan as well.Check out the info at their web site.

Mines run through a relay which I control with a toggle switch.got 2 Hayden fans 1 14in. and 1 10in. I have the 14 on the relay and switch for main cooling and the 10 just wired to the oem wires for the AC.

any parts store sells a thermo setup comes with a relay and wiring instructions and a probe that goes between the radiator fins, the whole kit is usually about $25, I use it and I've never had a problem

Can you wire this kit up so that the second fan turns on when the AC turns on? And so that only one fan is on high or low, depending on temperature? am I asking too much from this kit?

nice rhymes. youre kinda wrong tho, champ.

battery when car is off should be 12-13v, 14+ when car is running (alt charging)

however, in oldass cars like ours, the fuel pump wiring is obsolete.

and to the OP who wanted to just tap into fuel pump wiring, seriously, dont try electrical ANYTHING.

if you searched and it said you needed a relay, then USE a relay properly

Off topic.... if you use one of those thermo switches that they have at autozone with the probe, can you just splice the wires from the probe into the coolant temp sensor so it will be more accurate?

Ha! sorry to bring this back up but if you're going to do it, get the FSM and look up the skematics and write it up correctly.. YOu can always wire it where the relays are located and jump it. I did it on my integra.. will do it to my 240sx once i get it running again. HOoking it up to your batter just looks soo tacky when you pop open the hood
