So my friend wired in my electric fan to my fuel pump relay directly to my fan. Then the 10 amp fuse blew. so he put in a 25 amp. Then next I know when the car starts driving is hot electrical smell. Then car died. Now my car wont start. Smells like its from the ecu. Could this have fried my ecu?

Damn that was dumb as hell, you probably fried your fuel pump, that fuse is there to protect it. I really doubt its your ECU but check and replace things in order cheapest to most expensive. Till the problem is fixed. So here's what you do.

1) Get a new fuel pump.

2) Install it.

3) Drive to your friends house.

4) Beat the S**T out of him.

5) Pat your self on the back for a job well done.

That fan is gonna pull more than 25 amps... you needed a relay, numbnuts. Who knows what you fried now. If you don't know what a relay is, then you have no idea what the f*ck you're doing and you should have left the clutch fan on because it works better than whatever POS ebay fan you must have bought.

Yes i know what a relay is. Friend is currently residing in a shallow grave. Did trust him.....Mechanically, not electrically. And its a nissan maxima fan. But thanks. Hope you got your early morning anger out now....Took out ecu, opened it up....Its fried for sure.
