Electric fan end result...Electrical problems...READ!!!!

ok heres the deal, i had a friend of mine wire up an electric fan and he ran all these unnecessary wires and eventually the fan burned up and went out. We ended up using a fog light relay kit from Orilleys. Lemme just say EPIC FAILURE!!! Last night i replaced the fan and contacted a friend that i recently met and he told me a much easier way to hook up an electric fan. I spliced back the SOHC body harness (gray plug) that engine harness plugs into...(green w/ yellow stripe) and grounded that wire. End result relay kicked on. The relay that I am using to power my fan is ignition controlled. I cut the A/C fan plug (brown + black -)and wired up my fan to that. Fan works great! No unnecessary bundle of wires and no headache...HERES THE PROBLEM!!! after i took all of his unnecessary cluster-f*** of wires out, my f*** gauge cluster (cluster lights too), seat belts ( no retraction) and blower motor no longer work...FML. *Note* The wires that i pulled only ran to the fan switch...he did have a brass fuse jumper and wired that up too my fuse and i think it ran to my power acc. for my switch... Has anyone had any problems like this? I spent 2 hours looking at the FSM looking at ground locations, relays, circuit breakers...ect. NOTHING!!! I understand that the wiring of the stereo wires plays a role in the lights for the cluster as well as the clock coming on and im going to mess with that later on tonight. But in the mean time im stuck and f*** as far as my cluster taking a s*** on me. No speedometer, no temp. and no tach...I have replaced almost every godforsaken relay on the car and not a thing has changed. Before i go pull the dash and tear into that hornets nest i thought that i would ask you guys what you thought. THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE TO FLAME PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IM NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT COMES TO ELECTRICAL AND LIKE THE FORUM INDEX SAYS *electrical...the most hated part of your car* SO BEFORE SOME JACKASS GETS ON HERE AND FLAMES ME LEMME JUST SAY f*** OFF AHEAD OF TIME. UPDATE****Got the alternator tested, it was bad...so i bought a new one, installed it...epic fail, still doin the same things Batt. light stays on (dim) seatbelts dont retract, and clusters dead! what the hell?!?!?!?! there has to be another 240 owner thats had a problem similar to this my alternators not charging my battery, can someone please help me! :ohno: :gotme

You are asking if another 240 owner can help, but no other 240 owner had your friends special wiring package. Without info on what was done, we can guess and do a whole lot of work for you, but that simply will not be easy. Why don't you ask the kid himself? I assume you can't. Or don't want to. Either way, we don't know what was altered and therefor don't know how far from stock your wiring is at this point. It all just sounds so strange.

And I understand people get upset when others "flame/troll" them, but it didn't happen yet and you already told us to f off. I just don't understand... good luck.

everythings been put back to stock, no electric fan just a clutch fan...clusters not working, blower motors not working, and seatbelts arent retracting, alternator is not charging batt. either!...75amp fuse still good btw lemme know what you guys think?

no one said to f off btw just stated that flaming will not be tolerated so if your gna flame then stay off my thread thats all...i just need help and this is on about 4 240sx forums so i just copied and pasted.

Well you admit you need help, I ask again, can you ask the person that messed it up wtf happened? Or do you really expect us to know what is or isn't there based on description alone? Pictures??? You said he ran all kinda of stuff, and you said you used a trailer pkg. or something, we have no clue what you are working with. pictures or its useless, I don't care how many boards you copied and pasted onto. (which of course is frowned upon.)

You were in control when it got messed up, are you no longer in control of your car and what happens now that it's messed up? I know you need help, but it's not because of anything anyone else did.

Which is why I think it's ridiculous to tell people to stay out of your thread for ANY reason. YOU are the one needing help. Not US.

Anyways... Like camo said we need pictures of everything that was touched or messed with to even try to help you out.
