Hey there everyone, I've searched without success and I really want to do some electric fans on my car. Every result has been about buying new fans, but I don't have that much money in my budget. Question is, what kinds of cars come with electric fans that could keep my KA alive, and let me have back some of my horsepower. I don't care whether it is a big single fan, or two smaller units, but does anybody know which cars have them. This might be a good sticky.... Thanks in advance for any replies.;)

Your best bet is probably Stanza fans, early '90s Maxima fans could be made to work too. I used 1991 Stanza fans in my S12 and they work great. The car they came from used a KA24E. I paid $50 for both fans and their mounting at a junkyard. I also bought an adjustable thermostatic switch at Advance Auto for $20, and probably another $20 worth of wire, connectors, zip ties and plastic tubing to make the wiring look a bit nicer. So my whole setup cost less than $100, total work time was about 9 hours.

For some pics and text on my install, go to my website , and click on "Projects". I have to replace the wiring diagram on that page and update some of the images, I've since added a relay to the manual fan control circuit and cleaned up the underhood wiring a bit.

I got a set of dual fans off of an Altima that fit nicely with a little trimming to the shroud. One of the bottom mounts even lined up perfectly with the 240. They are dual speed as well. Right now they're both wired to come on at low speed when I turn the key. It worked perfectly fine for a Texas summer. When I go turbo, I'm going to wire them to a thermostat to kick onto high whenever the radiator gets hot. I got a generic adjustable thermostat for like $15 from Autozone.

I got dual electric fans out of a 95 sentra and they work very nicley. They fit very well too but completely cover your radiator, which really isn't a problem.
